About Us

Billions of money given to NGOs (Non-Profits) by Corporates, Philanthropists, Govt. and Individual donors is spent on ‘Charities’. But, how much efficient this spending is? To answer this; the idea of Prime Charity was born. The goal is to find and reward efficient Charities.

Prime Charity Foundation, India based Non-Profit Charity Evaluator, access and provide unbiased, independent charity ratings to empower donors for intelligent and informed giving decisions. Our evaluations of various charities are based on performance in financial efficiency, corporate governance and success at accomplishing their mission.

Prime Charity’s in-depth charity research provides outstanding giving opportunities by increased transparency and accountability to all donors including corporates or individual philanthropists. The objective is to make the world a better place through identifying and rewarding the best, deserving and effective charities.

Who we are

  • An organization to carry out social welfare activities

Our Activities

Prime Charity Foundation is established for -

  • Charity Evaluator as to appraise and rate the Non-Profits / NGOs on 3 key parameters: a) Governance, b) Efficiency, c) Impact.

  • Facilitate the practice of charity by connecting donors with other Non-Profits / NGOs verified and accessed on various parameters.

  • Social welfare activities in the field of education (for children), employment (for youth) and healthcare (for elderly).

Evaluation Methodology

As a simple example of Charity Evaluation, consider two charities – X and Y. Both save 1,000 lives every year or educate 1,000 children every year. However, Charity X spends Rupees 50 million for this, whilst Charity Y spends Rupees 10 million. That makes Charity Y 5 times more cost-effective than Charity X because it achieved the same results at one-fifth of the cost. Hence, a donation to Charity Y would likely help more people than the same donation to Charity X.

Cost effectiveness is a one of the key component of overall effectiveness parameters. However, there are many other factors also important for evaluating charities. Evaluation by Prime Charity involves a lot of research and expertise to identify and differentiate effective charities among close to 2.5 million NGOs/Non-profits exist in India. The outcome is backed by proper rationales and due validation. Along with the financial efficiency, we do consider several other qualitative factors in our complex evaluation such as sustainability of the operations, potential for scale, governance, accountability and overall social benefits etc.

The three key assessment standards with various parameters:

1. Governance: Transparency in reporting, Management Credentials, Degree of conflict of Interests etc

2. Efficacy: In-depth breakdown with percentage of various expenses i.e. Program, Admin, Fund raising, Salaries etc;

3. Impact: Outcome and influence of the program(s), Growth rate and Sustainability of the operations
